Are these temperatures really unprecedented?

If there is any global warming going on, its from concrete jungles. Big cities are major heat silos. I'm not sure if its that weather stations parked next to the asphalt at airport is the only cause or if we need to dismantle big cities to save the planet.

I am in favor of bombing/destroying big cities but not because of climate change. I just think they are bastions of evil, corruption, and degeneracy.

My thermometer peaked at 37 today, that was indoors out of the sun. Pretty sure it's the hottest day I've ever experienced in the UK but so what? Doesn't mean we should eat bugs, not that hard to figure out.
Last year was shite, spring and early summer both shite, late July and August ok, summer over by mid September, deep winter started in October.

I've never seen seented this in summer in Chicago. There are some pretty good videos that attempt to explain why observed temps are being reported as exceptionally high. From the fact that earth is emerging from an ice age and steady warming all the way down to where all these "official" thermometers are placed.

I think that the fact that the feels like temp is less than measured could be due to the humidity. These numbers appear to make sense. I am interested in the idea that the temperature recordings could be influenced by where they are placed. This is why I want to see some genuine temperature recordings from Brits and other Euros using their own thermometors. I want to see if the data they are getting is the same as what is being reported. If it is the same, then we can get the conspiracy side out of the way and start focusing on implications and solutions.

The Earth goes through many temperature cycles. I am still not convinced of the human impact aspect. Although, for other reasons, I do agree that cutting down forests and turning the world into a concrete hellscape is evil and wrong. We need to be focusing on those who are actually perpetuating the degradation of our beautiful planet rather than fighting each other for not having the same reasons behind our goals.

To prove what I say, is to look at Google Maps on the US, for example, and you will see ALL the dense green areas from trees are National or State forests where we are not allowed to cut down. Everywhere else is being deforsted.

All the dark green areas on the maps are heavily wooded forested areas and they are all government parks.

The rest of the areas are being cut down for "human progress." This is happening all over the world.

I wouldn't be surprised if they either changed the temps readings they got in the past or they're measuring temperature differently today (there's much more focus on the "feels like" temp these days for instance). Or they're just lying and these temps are records.

people its fucking summer, i live in Los Angeles we get into the triple digits for a couple months every year. Las Vegas gets even worse, they literally get up to 110F-115F all summer long every year. it happens every fucking year. summer sucks in very hot and humid places, but its not a death sentence. people have been getting by for generations.

Urban heat islands are definitely skewing measured and actual local temperatures. Here in SoCal every building is running an AC at full blast, and if you feel the heat being dumped out by those things and extrapolate based on the 15+ million people in the county, then it's obvious what that's doing to the local surface temps. Sucks because I usually don't run AC, and it makes it worse than it should be.
