Problem with the European Parliament is that seats are allocated to countries according to their population number rather than electorate so that places like France and Germany with high numbers of immigrants get a larger amount of seats compared to Eastern European countries.
France and Germany are effectively incentivised to increase their populations through immigrants in order to keep their legislative power over the EU
