Sowell represents the old guard of Classical Liberalism which was and is botj well defined and fairly consistent. I'm not defending it but I will nitpick bad contentions. The US, like all the Euro colonies, was founded on the basis of eurocentrism and an underlying understanding that nonwhites would not be mass imported and kikes would not be a force to be reckoned with. Kikes were known to the US founders but at the time were also known to be a small, bitter and irrelevant plague in eastern Europe and not a particular danger.

Great book, a lot of really good info but like all things must be approached with a critical mindset. What Thomas doesn't understand is the importance of pride in industry. He rightly asserts that countries specialising in certain industries can improve efficiency (an argument for outsourcing to foreign countries) via economies of scale. He doesn't fail to consider the consequences of this to people who love being part of that industry, he adopts the view that the ends justify the means as a more efficient economy is better for everyone. Essentially, the "learn to code" position. Of course we've seen how losing industries have not suddenly caused former industrial areas to find other niches to fill, and now we're seeing as our infrastructure is threatened shortages of the things we outsourced. And this is to say nothing of people who formerly had jobs they were proud of becoming less productive as they're embittered and untrusting of the countries that should have supported them. Thomas sowell thinks people should think like machines and only do whatever is the most efficient for them. Whilst the economy undeniably follows this logic, without considering the human element (like countries retardedly shutting everything down for two years) you can be met with disastrous results from the theoretically more efficient suggestions he makes. Saying that 90% of what he says in the book is good though.
