If religion were real it would come from a supernatural source. You wouldn't be learning about God from some book or some guy in a funny robe, you'd learn about God from visions or something. Also, everyone in the world would have the same religion, because if God is omniscient then he would be able to communicate with everyone on the planet with 100% clarity. Nobody would be confused about him or what he wants. There wouldn't be thousands of different religions teaching contradictory things.
God may be real, but if he is he has no affiliation with Christianity or any other religion and he clearly doesn't want anything from us right now.

Consider the following: a bird can fly. The bird also has excellent vision. There is a fat, juicy caterpillar on a tree branch nearby within it's sight. The bird sits on the ground and never flies to the tree branch. We can reasonably conclude then that the bird does not want the caterpillar or isn't hungry.
Similarly, if God is omniscient and omnipotent, then he can make any human who has ever lived understand any concept he wants them to. Yet the world is full of thousands of contradictory religions all fighting with each other and changing all the time. That means that God either doesn't want anyone to know anything about him or he doesn't exist.
