Cost of living index in all major Chinese city is below local purchasing power meaning most people in the big cities live horrible lives and can only scrimp and save a few rmb. Apartment prices are more expensive than mid priced high rise condos in Toronto 15 years ago despite being horribly built with zero inspection/safety industry.
