Being part of these subcultures used to be explicitly anti-establishment while the gender craze is supported left and right from government and big corporations. I'll say that I recently got out of highschool. There is no cool rebel anymore. Every non-normal person isn't cool. There's this one communist that went to military school, and he's the closest thing to it, but even he got zogged into complacency and now cucks himself on girls.
