To put it more simply, to be right wing means you believe in law and order, the law of nature, anti-egalitarianism, anti-equality, and so forth. Republicans in the US don't support any of that. Republicans support welfare policies...they just don't want them to be quite as far reaching as democrats do. Republicans support equality, just not to the extreme of Democrats who want to mandate that corporations have X number of women and X number of minorities on the board of directors. Republicans openly support egalitarianism, they just believe the free market (a liberal, left wing idea) can better achieve fair results compared to a state enforced equality with mandates and quotas.
