For a good portion of their history the Chinese people were ruled by foreigners, such as Mongolians or Manchus. I have no problem with the Chinese people (just Xi Jinping and the Chinese communist party), but they seem to conform to tyrannical rule too easily to truly become an aggressive military superpower.

Do the people of any country really stand up to tyrannical rule though? It seems it only happens when the public's way of life is seriously infringed. Which is more to do with leaders not providing enough 'bread and circuses' keeping them happy, than the public's care for whether their ruler is a tyrant.

I personally know several people who immigrated to the US legally from China because they hated the Chinese communist party and the oppressive government, and they've assimilated very well as Americans. I don't believe they have any loyalties to the Chinese government, based on their actions, and they seem to like the US more than many of the entitled idiots who were born and raised here.
