as a kid in grade school I was shown film of nuclear tests and then told the soviets could nuke us.
then they would sound a siren every once in awhile and we'd get under our desks like that would do anything.
I was never the same after the polio booster in kindergarten so it didn't bother me but there was a lot of fear going around.
I have no idea why they would post those signs except predictive programming and it's our nukes that do the job, then blame on Russia and go to war but retaliate with nukes you need a nice long prolonged war where not everyone dies right away.
