Forgive me if this seems out of the blue. It's been on my mind a lot lately and I wanted to share this. By now, everyone is familiar with what's spoken of in the Bible in relation to Revelations. While no one but God knows the time it will take place, many tend to skip over something about this when Jesus is relaying the message to John. The time period in which this would have taken place.
No one ever really tends to think about, or even address the time period itself that Revelations is supposed to take place in. So I started reflecting on what this meant, and what he might have seen. Obviously, given the time period in which he existed, anything from this era would have shocked him. And given his own limited experiences, he would have a limited point of reference when it came to conveying what he was seeing. I won't get into the nitty-gritty of translation comparisons because, at this point, it would be a distraction from the main point.
As it stands though, many believe we are in the time of Revelations. And if that is actual the case, do you think John saw what the world is currently going through? Do you think he saw the technology we have? What about the memes and the elections? The political scandals and witch hunts. What did he see?
