There is always some overlap with generations, and individual considerations to be had.

Most organizations start Gen Z in 1997. (Potentially 96 or 95)
Though 1993-1998 is really it's own generation, the zillennials, they cannot be reliably grouped with millennials or zoomers due to the rapid expansion of technology. Zoomers grew up on social media, zillennials started during high school. Zoomers don't remember 9/11 or any of the politics around it. And so forth.

I think this is similar to how some people use the term "xennial" (analog childhood and digital adulthood). I had that.
There will be a fraction of zoomers who had a childhood without smart phones, social media, or always being connected/online. Technology and lifestyle has been changing pretty rapidly from one decade to the next even.

I never got the "you're a zoomer if you don't remember 9/11" meme. I was 6 when 9/11 happened and don't remember it but there are people younger than me that do. It's pretty subjective.
