>Earlier this week, some media outlets noticed that BMW was selling $18-a-month subscriptions to heated seats in a number of countries, including South Korea. The German automaker had previously tried and failed to get customers to pay $80 a month for access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto — features that are otherwise free in other companies’ vehicles. But even after BMW reversed its decision to force people to pay for something that used to be free, it was clear that it wouldn’t stop there.

You Will Pay A Monthly Subscription To Heat Your Ass
we'll see more car hacks. There's one for the tesla speed boost, but it costs almost as much as the paid version from tesla, which includes warranty coverage and doesn't break with a software update.
no such issue with hacking your bmw seat heater.
Any open design cars out there?
Why not just buy a non-gay car?
I'd buy a shelled out Crown Vic and convert it to electric before I paid a monthly subscription for a car
Every time I think we've reached peak judaism..
What's the goy-approved answer for why a hardware feature already in the car needs to be a perpetual subscription?
>New service patch updates
>Pay if you need it
>Save money if you don't
All of these are lies though.
I'm waiting for an air tax. They're already getting solar panel fees/taxes (or illegal off grid) and banning rain water collection off your roof.
>pay if you need it
It's called buying the trim level that includes what you want at the time of purchase. My car has heated seats 365 days per year even though I only use them in the winter. I bought this car because it had them, knowing I would only use them in the winter.
The article says 25% of people are ok with this. Things are falling apart much faster than I expected.
It’s usually some nonesense like “passing the savings onto the consumer, if you don’t want that feature, don’t pay for it”. Nevermind that the hardware is shipped in the car and the software already exists so it’s not like you’re subsidizing development costs or something. Tesla is the cause of all this. The autopilot feature works on every car but they had to Jew out and charge extra for it. Fuck Tesla and fuck musk, the industry is ruined because of him and gay shit like this.
Ford released a bunch of CAD files for the Ford Maverick, and encourages owners to design and create 3d printed modifications for the vehicle.
lol
In 1969's "Ubik" Pkilip K. Dick describes a world where everthing own from your toaster to the coffee machine and shower were coin operated.
At some point a character can't leave his apartment because he doesn't have a nickel for the doorknob.
so whats going to stop me from directly connecting the heater element to a direct voltage source and bypassing their gay RF circuit? :p
>Ford released a bunch of CAD files for the Ford Maverick, and encourages owners to design and create 3d printed modifications for the vehicle.
>hood-mounted, arduino controlled FGC-9
ubik is fucked and i need to reread it
There are no states that ban rain collection. There are ten that require you to get permission from the person that owns the water rights (the property owner) first. There are also more that ofer tax breaks to people that collect rainwater.
lol. lmao.
I'm willing to give them a pass on autonomous driving, which I think is a one-time charge anyway. Not buggy software is a significant component to making that work, in a way that doesn't exist in using 100% of a battery's capacity or a seat heater. On the other hand it's led to this so whatever, fuck them.
These won't exist in twenty years. Unless you're content with driving classic cars for the rest of your life, you'll have to hack it.
reverse-engineering and hacking the jew is largely a popularity contest. In tech, once something is popular enough it 100% spawns hacking groups. They instantly form for certain things like new tech (crypto, iphone gen1, playstation 3).. Once these things become 'big' its going to be a 100% hack the planet 24/7.. so im not terribly scared.
Until car companies figure out how to make a car run flawlessly for 10+ years. They have no right to demand a subscription fee.
The fact you can get around it is not the point. The point is that they feel they can do this jew shit and that a quarter of people are willing to accept it.
Anyone who does that is a retard
>buy a basic model car
>get after market parts
>get third party software from the eventual cracking groups
>no payments
It's real world horse armour.
This is only the beginning.
Soon people will be paying for custom vanity screensavers on their LED screens, etc etc.
>Dude, I just like it!
Soon cars will be modelled around the digital subscription vanity features rather than the actual physical car itself.
People are so fucking gay.
>muh vanity items
Niggers
ship has sailed. like 95% npcs on this minecraft
I will drive old japanese cars till the end of my boomer life.
I'm not gonna waste anything on bullshit. I rather buy and enjoy best qt foods, real meat instead of bugs.
