>The Belgorod Confectionery Factory released a limited edition of Alyoshka chocolate - in honor of the boy Lesha, who greets the Russian military. >The honest and sincere child accompanies and welcomes our troops and shares his warmth with them, which comes from his heart. That's what the kids are missing now: the comfort of knowing that they are welcome at home, the comfort of knowing that they are admired at home by boys like Alyosha... We wanted so much to share this warmth with the military. So we made an agreement with our confectionery and produced Alyoshka chocolate. The most important identifying marks on the wrapper were the helmet, the military salute and the lilacs. The chocolate is dark, and it is useful for recuperation, - wrote the head of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov. >A trial batch of chocolate was distributed to hospitals where the wounded in the course of special operations are treated and sent to the front line. Lyosha also received a bar. >You can't buy Alyoshka chocolate in the store," warned the governor. - Although I'm sure it would be popular. >Matvienko urged not to allow a "witch hunt" because of the attitude to the special operation >Earlier, the boy explained to "RG" why he ran out to the intersection and waved to the passing convoys: >"I want to make our military rejoice. After all, their children are very far away now...

I asked these questions a few days ago, but didn't get comprehensive answers so I'm fishing for some new responses.
Anyone know what is the breakdown of the ethnic distribution within the Russian armed forces? I get a feeling that Muscovites and other metropolitans make up a small amount of the troops, yet are overly represented in the officer corps.
Also, what is the relationship between Chechnya and the armed forces? Why do we hear about "the Chechens" but not the the Karelians or the Tuvans?
