Is suffering and adversarialism the only way to mould the character of a man and preserve it against the entropy of modernity?
Bread and circuses have degenerated the modern man into a toothless, apathetic creature that is essentially a ward of the state. He is without cause, righteousness, or vigilance and he is beset by jackals and opportunists while he slumbers.
Does he need war, perpetual conflict, artificially scarcity, or hardship to wake him from his stupor? Is it actually possible to maintain the fruits of hard fought societies once his goals and conquests have been achieved? Is it even possible to break the cycle of the "hard times" meme and not subject ourselves to its spinning torture rack?

You can't gain enlightenment in higher planes of existence exactly because there's no suffering there. Too easy a life has nothing to learn from.

>he thinks it's some kind of coincidence or a problem with individual human nature
Nothing happens for no reason. Have you considered removing those bad actors instead of producing more of them?
>are people traumatized because they are not traumatized enough?
t. (You)

>suffering and adversarialism
no. hardship and overcoming works, so it is not the only way.

>Bread and circuses
have you ever seen cows being fattened in a feed lot? most people are being fattened for market and slaughter by their feed(s)--media, social, ads, algos, search, and grooming to be domesticated cattle for corporate and political overlords.

Suffering is needed for growth, but it can also destroy you. If you are motivated and can focus on a brighter future suffering can be your biggest blessing

A man discovers eternal biological life. He has therefore also accessed eternal biological suffering. It is less of a necessity but more of a symptom of mere existence in this world. A price even. You may call it, the price of eternality.

So you want to break the algorithm?

"Good times create weak men.
Weak men create hard times.
Hard times create strong men.
Strong men create good times."

You have to view the logic as a whole and strike it where you see fit to lengthen or outright destroy unwanted parts.

Specifically, ideally, you want Good Times and Strong Men, forever.

To hack this, you will have to reach into the principles of "Hard Times". You will have to domineer the "Hard Times" Stream Line them. Minimise them. This is the principle of School and science. Less is more. So by min-maxing your "Hard Times" you can make them feel almost inconsequential and yet reap the benefits they offer and create a foundation of stone that generates strong men.

>Is suffering and adversarialism the only way to mould the character of a man and preserve it against the entropy of modernity
always has been
always will be

I agree, but who would intentionally subject themselves to suffering? People instinctively work to eliminate it. Im not wishing for suffering upon others, but if everyday suffering is replaced by extreme comfort by an industrious society, what do you do then? Do you just have to wait for the cycle to repeat and subject yourself to more suffering - and in the context of modern day Western nations - flaunt with absolute destruction itself?

This. You need roots that reach down to hell before you can grow to heaven.

The cycle is not something to break, it's the engine of existence turning
A man needs purpose and the will to inflict himself upon the world, adversities be damned, nothing more, nothing else.

Enjoying is for women, resting is for the dead. Sieg heil, faggot

Tl;dr

Artificial hard times create artificially strong men.
Artificially strong men create good times.
Artificially hard times create artificially strong men.
Artificially hard times create artificially strong men.
Artificially hard times create artificially strong men.
Artificially hard times create artificially strong men.

Repeat ad nauseam until you get bored and want to have a bad time, for fun.

Suffering = loosh.

>but who would intentionally subject themselves to suffering?

Hehehehahahahahahaha.
Pleased to meet you.
Hope you guess my name.

>intentionally
Even if youre stupid nigger cattle that doesnt count as intentionally.

there are better ways to break algorithims. consider a hypotetical--there are 100 people and 100 boxes each randomly containing a number 1-100. each person has fifty chances to search the 100 boxes to find their own number (50% chance). what are the odds all 100 people find their number, assuming each search is independent (no one gets help from someone who has already searched). what are the odds all 100 find their numbers?

the good-weak-hard-strong-good loop assumes the odds are 0.5^100 (less likely than two random people somewhere on earth both selecting the exact same grain of sand out of all the beaches of earth).

in reality however, the odds of all 100 people finding their number is 31%. thats how you break algorithims, and its real, and its an example of what we should be doing.

the trick is left as an exercise for astute readers and relates to ring topology. tldr all that matters is strategy, not the algo, not the time, and not the strengths and weaknesses.

So are you suggesting some form of artificially scarcity?

It is the cattles choice to lo in the field, as it is the dragons choice to breath flames and roar in the skies.

Ah but you see what I did there was break it apart so thoroughly that I just used the scraps to make a new one.
It is less math than it is brutality, as is my modus operandi.

There are smarter ways. Ever evolving artificial intelligence and virtual reality training centres, constantly pumping out new and advanced methods of challenges. Think 'The Matrix' but to our benefits. Either way it makes no difference to an eternal, as they will inherit all the suffering and all the pleasure by default over time.
Good luck, Irish man.
You will need it.

you can improve outcomes by 30,000 orders of magnitude by using strategy. if you want broken systems, you can have them, but they're optional.

>I agree, but who would intentionally subject themselves to suffering?
Those of us that have endure prolong suffering sometimes don't go out looking for it. Sometimes it's just bad decisions that end up catching back to us. The only thing left to do at that point, is endure it and learn from it, so you don't repeat the same mistakes.

create a shadow society composed of schizophrenics and make the environment rely on their judgement

how about artificially inducing suffering by vr & other means?
