This isn’t about bankrupting Western economies. It’s great news for the IMF and their puppets. IMF loans always come with predatory conditions that mainly include privatising national infrastructure (e.g transfer it into the hands of IMF-controlled oligarchs), reduce public spending, raise taxes, etc. The principal will come from US taxpayers and the repayment from Ukrainian taxpayers further down the line with all the wealth being funnelled to IMF controlling interests. It’s essentially just further shafting the plebeians into perpetual debt slavery while the patricians accumulate infinite wealth.
