Why did Modern Civilization shift away from the death penalty?
I could argue there are many crimes that should warrant death without a doubt. The death penalty when rarely used, is also way too drawn out and prolonged costing the taxpayer way too much money in the process.
We need to bring back firing squads and hangings, these are the cheapest forms of death penalty in comparison to anything else. This will also help with overpopulation in prisons by having a more vast areas of crime punishable by death penalty. This would save so much money for taxpayers.
You should be proven guilty without a doubt and unquestionably at fault for the heinous crime. You should face the death penalty one week after you are found guilty. Crimes that should be punishable by death should be
>Sex with underage children under the age of 16, if the perpetrator is over the age of 21. (Death by hammering) >Possession of child pornography.(death by hammering) >Murder in cold blood (not self defense) >Treason >identity theft >Immigration violation >Kidnapping a child that is not your own >Selling drugs Any maybe a few more things could be added.
The point i’m getting to is, could we ever bring back the death penalty and normalize it again? And i mean in a way that doesn’t cost the taxpayers 100,000’s of dollars prolonging the death of some scum who clearly deserves it.
It's interesting whenever I see conservatives who are unapologetically pro-death penalty but solidly anti-euthanasia for some reason.

And it has. Many times. I've thought long and hard on a way to prevent abuse of power to such a magnitude while also keeping the death penalty, and I always come up empty.
