The primary thesis of gommunism, when you break it down to its logical conclusion, is that we never need to make a sustainable system because there will always be a future to steal from. As long as tomorrow never arrives, the whole thing can keep cranking along Whereas on the right, the conservative approach is to make sure this planet will last as long as possible until we get there, so that Peter does not need be robbed to pay Paul. The primary thesis of this path is that a society requires a stable foundation, rigid tradition, and a set of laws that don't change 4 times a week to meet whatever demands the left needs of it at the moment. Each side believes the other will do a worse job of uplifting the average citizen to a better life, although I'd personally rather have a cupboard of rice and beans stocked rather than gamble my life on only getting the choice filet once it becomes available.
