Man, finding an apartment to rent is like finding a job, like 100 people apply for one apartment and the landowner get to select the ideal tenant out of the 100 applicants.
Lots of landowners here require you have an income that is 3/4 times greater than the rent, this is ridiculous, i have never seen such requirement in any other country.
Even if you are rich, you still cant find a place here.

Yea, that's the standard here. It's been like that for at least ~decade, idk what the renting market was like before that though.
I'm sure all the ""international"" students are likely getting government assistance, so landlords basically have guaranteed income from the government, and don't have to worry about if it's too "expensive", because they know the government will pay.
