When I was in high school, I took a journalism 1 class my freshmen year. Since the teacher didn't have enough things to impact your grade she would do these geography tests of the entire world. I was always good at this so when we took the tests I didn't really have to study all that much. Helped a ton when I lived in NYC because I would meet people from obscure eastern European countries who would go on tangents explaining where it is and I could tell them, "ah yes little country near the black sea bordering X,Y,Z."
