With genuine conceptions of left vs right (not this warped stage show we have now), the focus is on physical vs metaphysical realities. To the left, power is defining reality in accordance with what *should* be and expecting the immaterial to change accordingly, to the right power is discovering the most esoteric aspects of absolute truth to wield it accordingly (ie occultism). Thus left wing fringes look like 1984 where right wing fringes are secret societies with death pacts over forbidden knowledge.
