Can some slavfags clue me in as to why Russia went down this path? They could’ve used the 90s collapse to rid themselves of the constant western antagonism and focus on rebuilding the country similar to Germany and Japan. What went wrong? On the outside it looks like Putin is responsible for the push towards one upping the west again since yelstin and Gorbachev before him were doing a good job building closer ties.
