The United States announced Iran's plans to transfer several hundred drones to Russia.
Iran intends to quickly transfer to Russia up to several hundred drones, including those capable of carrying weapons, said Jake Sullivan, assistant to the President of the United States for national security. According to him, such drones were previously used by the Yemeni Houthi rebels to attack Saudi Arabia.
“Our information indicates that the Iranian government is preparing to rapidly provide Russia with up to several hundred drones, including drones that can carry weapons,” Mr. Sullivan told reporters (quoted by AP).
The White House says Iran plans to train the Russian military in the use of drones, and the first stages of training should take place as early as this month. However, the US does not know if Iran has handed over any of these drones so far.
