What was life like before 9/11? I was born a year prior exactly and feel like I was robbed of a better world and life experience. Was it really so much better, or is it just nostalgia?

I feel lucky to have been a 90s kid. Just look at the movies that came out in 1998 and 99 alone. There was no internet unless you were rich/lived in a big city/at the library.

It was better. There was a tomorrow to look forward to.

You had rights, cops respected them. You could pay cash for a plane ticket with no id. You could not be denied service for your political beliefs, no matter how extreme. Liberals kept their fucking mouths shut, and gays were shunned.

Maybe in the first world, around here it was absurdly shit until around 2003, then it improved a little until about 2011, then it was back to being jewed non-stop (because Luia wasted all the available gibs and credit on jewshit and accumulated a lot of debt and extra bloat in the process).
All of this was partially consequence of getting ultra-jewed during the jewish dictatorship between the 60's and mid 80's, then more jewish temper tantrums, gayness and nonsense until around 1994.
The other cause is everyone being subhuman but this doesn't need to be explained.

It was the complete opposite. The Soviet Union were protecting themselves from western democracy authoritarianism. They never once in their history hit levels that are even the most average day in the west.

There's a lot of nostalgia but one of the main reasons it was better is because the Soviet Union was destroyed in 1990 which had been the main doomsday threat for 40 years. 1990-2001 was this feeling of new hope for a better world. There were conflicts sure but they were small scale in foreign lands.

Another factor was that news consumption was probably once a day if you watched it at home, or read a news paper. These days it's in your face 24/7 and updated on an instantaneous basis. This seemed like a positive innovation at first but you quickly realize human beings cannot handle being constantly bombarded with the harsh realities of the entire world on a continual basis.

Then there was the lack of smartphone addiction and the internet was relegated for the intellectual and nerdy types. The internet in the 90s and early 2000s was like stepping into the Library of Alexandria and meeting 20 scholars.

There's no need to have more than 2-4 buttons and a D-pad/stick. I play games to relax and have fun, not to work. The Super Nintendo was the best console by far. it was very different, but i will say this about comparing the two: today what happens online on tiktok/insta/whatever the popular app is this year dictates the social hierarchy, and therefore dictates reality; prior to this it was the opposite (natural) and everything was organically dictated by who was just cool to hang out with in person. even when myspace was around, myspace didn't dictate what real life was, it was just something to do after school. there was none of this worshipping women bullshit, you couldn't even "like" photos back then.

Nostalgia has some effect, but 90's was way more hopeful. I often wanted to time go by faster so that I could experience all the marvels of "tomorrow"

Born in 87, so the 90s were my childhood from age 3-13. It was a good time, the cartoons were good, the music was fun, there was a sense of optimism everywhere and everyone was excited about the “new millennium” (and scared that y2k would shut down everyone’s computers) when 2000 was about to arrive. Maybe it’s just because I was a kid at the time, but the world genuinely seemed happier.

Excellent post. It's a simple example, but skim over some videogame magazines from the time. Everything was moving forwards so fast, a new console generation was a massive jump, imagine yourself, a young kid at the time, with all this progress imagining the rest of their life, it was incredible and the future looked so bright.

You guys are idealizing it just because now is so shit. It was a great time to be a kid, maybe third best after 50s and 80s, but in some ways white people were more hard edged than now. Fighting and bullying seemed to be a lot more common among middle and upper middle class people than now. Was it better? Yes. Was it some kind of utopia where people weren’t still dickheads? No. WASPS still had control over popular culture though and the nigger/kike influence on the average person especially young ones was way less, no denying that

The decade between 1985-1995 were the kino years. Up until 1998, White people still had a coolness factor and were still respectable. TV was more popular than video games because the cartoons, sitcoms, and movies on tv were top notch. Then boybands became popular, White males started making their hair spikey and wearing wife beaters, music became gay and emasculated(compared to it's predecessors of grunge and heavy metal). Then came the douchebag jersey shore era and the emo era, then wiggers became mainstream again, followed by numale hipsters and nerds.
