I heard a new theory about the Dutch government’s attempted destruction of their own agricultural industry. Apparently the plan is to force farmers off their land to create room for migrant housing.
For those of you not familiar with the geography of the Netherlands, there’s not a lot of solid land there. It’s very, very marshy. For burgers, if you’ve ever been to the coastal areas of South Carolina, it’s like that. Sandy and all the ground is saturated with water. So the amount of land available for large building projects (without a massive budget to engineer your way around the unstable ground, which is fine for a headquarters of a billion dollar company but not government housing) is very limited.
In other words this is at least as much about the Great Replacement as it is about eating the bugs.
Sounds about right. Almost like they're mocking the farmers, stealing their land to give it to foreigners in a time where famines are predicted. Basically daring us to do something about it.

Honestly user this is the most logical take on it that i've heard so far. It should theoretically be in the EU's best interests right now to keep EVERYONE happy, because gas is going up, electricity is going up, and the people have to pay for the EU's shenanigans sanctioning Russia. So why they chose to piss off the farmers is batshit crazy/retarded to me.

It is pretty retarded theory though, the construction of new houses is heavily regulated and limited due to lack of nature. It is much more likely they want to import cheap horsemeat or bugs and label it as beef (I am dutch)
