Short and dry - I’m 27 and thinking about jumping into a phlebotomy program real quick. I majored in comp sci but didn’t finish more than 2.5 years cause of money. Couldn’t even get an associate cause the uni I went to doesn’t award one. Fucking scam and poor decision but anyway.
I’ve been doing desktop support and help desk jobs and now I’m in another area where it’s mostly labor and shit tier wagie jobs, where I’m a wagie. All the schools here are just trade and nursing programs.
Is anyone a (male) phlebotomist that can comment on their experience? It’s a short and cheap program and I’m seeing I can probably start near $20/hr more or less which I’m fine with I’m a single ascetic type guy. But I just want to make more than the $12 I do now, pay off my scam uni debt, and be able to secure my financial future.
Also I (unfortunately) have the J&J jab (no boosters and I’m not looking to get them) so I’m hoping that’s sufficient to at least get in and not get fired for refusing vaxes in the future
Because Kissshot acerola orion heart under blade is goddess-tier in her mommy milf form

I too am aroused by the sight of blood and gore.

just fuckin do it fag, and don't tell people you're hemophiliac.
Easton Sanders
Dumb nigger go back to school
Robert Bell
reminds me of a fucked up cartel vid I saw once, where dude is getting skinned alive and stabbed with a hardon the whole time. I couldn't fucking imagine dude, I don't know what to think
Asher Perez
not that bad if you already have the vaxx. Also you might get better insight to blood clots
I used to manage a team in a hospital of phlebs. You’ll earn more at McDonald’s
Julian Flores
Hospital IT here. Our female phlembos are typically pretty hot. Not sure where they come from since the local community college's cert program is full of sheboons, none of whom pass.
Not sure what they get paid, but female medical workers are a horny lot in a field with a heavily female tilt. Night shift especially.
Since you have a techie background already you might consider CT or X-Ray tech or sonographer.
Liam Mitchell
I did it for a short bit while I was in school. honestly the hardest job I have ever done. Had to be there at 2am to do the draws for morning labs in a hospital that severs the "indigent population". Really awkward to have to wake up dying people to jab them clumsily. It really depends on the hospital/clinic you're in. I was sticking prisoners and shit. If you're dealing with civilized humans it probably isn't so bad.
Jaxson Howard
Honestly any general suggestions for quick career path change moving forward is welcomed. I just want to be recession proof and I unironically feel feel more secure at this gas station than at some fake company’s IT department
I wot m8
I’m (outside the) Pittsburgh area where even the janitors or receptionists make decent money in the hospital. Totally bogus system but I’ll take advantage if I can and move closer if I need to
Most jobs have increased wages in the last year or two quite a bit
Elijah Gonzalez
become a doctor instead.
Jaxon Cruz
you should become a dental hygienist, they make pretty damn good money for how long their training program is
Landon Flores
Also this. The long term phlebs where I was were all ghetto trash negresses and latinas sprinkled with nursing/other students who were there for like a year for some extra money
Camden Baker
it looks like the Bakemonogatari loli vampire all grown up
Luke Wilson
Dude, I’m also 27. I warn $18 as a SECURITY GUARD (unarmed, armed can be $24). I’m still in uni for accounting: don’t want to be in debt and also took time off. How do you earn $12 an hour?
Liam Bailey
Sorry user, her form in her 20's is much better than her old christmas cake form.
Oh, also user, good luck with avoiding the vax in a medical field. I'm 3x moderna. I had complications from the first two, filed for medical exemption, but was denied. I eventually got down to the last week where I had to decide to get boosted or lose my job.
Shit thing is they moved up the deadline to beat out the inauguration of our new Republican governor (Virginia) since the word was he might ban mandates in the state. They made it clear anyone who left due to vax refusal would not be considered for rehire if such a ban was enacted.
Isaiah Carter
Holy fuck you're a dumb nigger, OP
Credits from uni are generally transferable to community colleges (where they award associate degrees, you fucking retard). Transfer your credits to your local CC, get with a counselor, and find out what holes you need to fill to get your slip of paper.
Don't waste your time and money learning how to support pharmakeia blood magic kikery by drawing blood.
Also, I make 18/hr prepping bento boxes. Finding gainfully profitable employment isnt hard. You're just a lazy nigger.
David Edwards
Is this like a dental assistant or something? I actually saw a listing on indeed hiring for no experience and offering training
You'll be working at a blood plasma donation(selling) facility sticking niggers for 10 hours a day.
You could not pay me enough to do that job.
Asher Collins
Some places pay shit. I live in a town that had pretty low cost of living. Prior to moving to my hospital work I worked for a local telco as 'Tier 2 Repair Operations.'
That meant if anything happened from a crackle on a copper phone line to a DSL outage, up to issues with T1-T3 lines or someone cutting through a fiber optic pipe as thick as your torso it would come to me. Tier 1 took calls and put in tickets. I called back because the tickets were always wrong or incomplete. Then I fixed it. Reprogramming routers and telephone switches, testing data connections, you name it. If the problem was physical I sent it to our central office if it was in house, our NOC if it was another provider's line, or I dispatched our field techs if it was out in the world. If it was not physical I fixed it.
I made $12 an hour.
When I complained I was told this was a good wage for the area. I argued that we don't charge any more or less for a fiber line here than we do in Baltimore, so why should I make less than someone in Baltimore. And so I was laid off.
Tyler James
I'd finish the CIS degree or study and get some basic certs. You're talking about switching careers 180 degrees and losing everything you already paid for - but - your choice.
Jaxon Gonzalez
Thanks for the advice I will look into those programs. Likely none cheap or near me where I am so I may have to pony up and drive into the city. Also I might be aiming for night shift - will horny nurses give me poon tang in the bathrooms?
Interesting. Thanks user
Maybe if it wasn’t expensive or lengthy like it is here in murica
PA doesn’t pay shit. Security guards here unarmed mostly all under one or 2 security firms for like $15/hr
What did you do? I would just hang out till fired and they pay me unemployment or whatever. Is that not an option?
I tried that sir. Transferred to community and out of my 65 credits only 24 or something transferred. I went to a pretty well know “top tier” uni too. Maybe someone can recommend some online community college I can quickly do this at?
Easton Hill
I was a lab tech and phlebotomist for several years. I really didn't care for drawing blood because of having to deal with patients. If you don't mind that though it's not bad. I just preferred to be in the lab doing hematology or microbiology.
Thomas Brooks
Honestly user if I could go back I wouldn’t even have done it more than likely. I worked in one of our hospitals in the major system and you just deal with entitled boomers day in and day out it’s pretty soul crushing and I can see why people road rage and aren’t happy in life and want to kill themselves. Tbh it wasn’t a bad gig but also I may have just trained myself to say that while forgetting that people just treat you like a glorified wagie. Imagine spinster roasties blowing up your line demanding to cut ahead in service of others because she’s the executive assistant to dr so and sos office and then you call them back and they’re suddenly too busy to do the work they said they were incapable of doing
Elijah Morris
I get serious schizophrenic vibes from you OP, it's common that they come up with 20 different plans, even if there is a clear one in front of them...
That is, if you're not withholding information about your compsci performance.
THAT BEING SAID. It is still your best path forward. Go to your student services, throw everything on the table, be transparent (as you are probably not being transparent to us), and ask them for a pathway to finish your degree. Get a separate loan to pay for the rest of the classes. If your current uni is too expensive to do that, be open with student services and see if you can finish your last subjects through a cheaper uni (then get an external loan).
Don't fuck yourself over, schizo. 2.5 years of grind just to let a single schizophrenic episode fuck you is lame af.
