Hollywood is making a pro slavery movie

IMDB page for The Woman King

Who were the Dahomeys?
>The growth of Dahomey coincided with the growth of the Atlantic slave trade, and it became known to Europeans as a major supplier of slaves.
>Men, women, and children captured by Dahomey in wars and slave raids were sold to European slave traders
>human sacrifice became crucial aspects of the culture
>During their ceremonies, around 500 prisoners would be sacrificed. As many as 4,000 were reported killed In one of these ceremonies in 1727
>Most of the victims were sacrificed through decapitation

The events of the movie take place while Britain was trying to end the slave trade globally
>Dahomey became an adversary to the British Empire after the abolition of slavery during the 19th century
>The British sent diplomatic missions to Dahomey, in an effort to convince King Ghezo to abolish human sacrifice and slave trading
>In 1851, the Royal Navy imposed a naval blockade against Dahomey, forcing Ghezo to sign a treaty in 1852 that immediately abolished the export of slaves
>However, the treaty was broken and slave trading efforts continued in 1857 and 1858
>King Ghezo responded to british requests to end slavery and human sacrifice saying "The slave trade has been the ruling principle of my people. It is the source of their glory and wealth. Their songs celebrate their victories and the mother lulls the child to sleep with notes of triumph over an enemy reduced to slavery."

Hahahahaha. Maria Bello is one of the writers? That's perfect.

I didn't read your whole post so you may have said it but I just wanted to add that in addition to The Kingdom of Dahomey being central in providing slaves, they also practiced human sacrifice en masse.

>That's perfect.
why's that?

>inspired by true events
>invert historical fact
Why do the jews do this?

Because she's a typical Hollywood trash actress NPC. The fact that she even came up with the story, much less pursued funding and staff to make it, is a perfect display of the arrogance and hypocrisy these dipshits have.

>Based on historical events
They are just openly mocking people at this point.

Some entertaining youtube comments on the trailer

That was mentioned in the post, but props for knowing your history.

>evil white men invade to stop slavery

Why not? Mockery is a humbling experience if rooted in truth

>Why not? Mockery is a humbling experience if rooted in truth
So do you think it's possible that people are gonna pay for the privilege to go see this movie, only to look up "Dahomey" on their phones in the way home and find out they just swallowed bullshit nonstop for the last hour and a half?
I mean yeah, that could be cool.

This should be their leader.

I think it's not only possible but likely. Makes me want to rejoin twatter just to watch black Twitter chimp out

It won’t be portrayed like this, it’s going to be classic nogs vs ebil white slavers

>uuhhmmm akkkshhuuaaaallllyyy the niggers were bad

Of course its not going to be portrayed like that. But that doesn't change the fact that its based on possibly the most ironic historical events considering its woke message.

thank god normies have actual historical knowledge

The slavers were able to get that powerful because European demand/trade for black slaves was the basis of their power. Various African kings tried to stop it (mostly because they started taking their own citizens as slaves) and even wrote letters to European kings. However, voracious Europeans ignored them, did political subversion, and coups against those who wanted to stop it.
It's nice to think that all the slaves exported into the Americas were the slave stock, literally the worst of the crop.
