People have experimented with these multi-barrel guns throughout history (16 - 18th century) and they turned out rather unreliable and gimmicky. Stacking barrels and triggers gets cumbersome past a certain point, so there's a natural limitation.

You missed something very important kraut. In the past 9 barrels meant 9 triggers. But if the operation is electric, the microcontroller only needs to trigger the barrels succesively upon sequential pulls on the same single trigger.
