There's a number of splinter sites that have succeeded 8ch boards which still have users, and I guarantee if 8ch hadn't been killed in 2019 it would still be around and kicking.

Loli was never banned on 8ch - if you poke around on archived versions of the 8ch boards page you'll see /delicious/ is pretty consistently visible. For that matter shota and even zoo was never banned either. Only risque pictures of actual children ended up getting banned in late 2015 or so, which is the same case as here on Any Forums.
On 8ch there were a number of ACTUAL pedo imageboards back in late 2014 and 2015 or so which posted borderline 3d content but eventually Jim or the cripple shut that down and forced them to use text only boards instead/not post questionable pictures of kids.
