I enjoyed some livestreams of the Syrian War on liveleak but soldiers livestreaming is different than cops livestreaming. The reason should be obvious.

body cams should be required for EVERYTHING

Bodycams are a double edge sword. They can be used against a cop or a criminal.
Best example is the Jaylen Walker where it showed that he shot at cops first.

But then we can't get Donut Operator police shooting break-down videos.

it can be used against a cop, but it's not necessary to be used against an [alleged] criminal. because without the bodycam footage of the event, the cop's word itself would be enough

imagine a scenario (this happened to my roomate actually) where someone did a hit and run, ran inside, and locked himself in the room with a dog (pitbull)
the cops claimed he opened the door for a second and threatened them with a pitbull (this is "assault with a deadly weapon" by the way).
IF there was bodycam footage, it would have shown that never happened. thereby benefitting the criminal
but if that DID happen, it wouldn't have mattered whether or not there was bodycam footage of it. even if i said "i was there, i lived there, he never threatened the guy with a dog" it wouldn't have mattered since the cops would just have said otherwise, and their lies would have been treated as fact

This. The problem with bodycams is that there's still plenty of opportunities for cops to escape accountability rendering the point of bodycams moot. The only time you see the footage is when it's been given the green light by at least half a dozen people in positions of authority with nothing to fear or be embarrassed by the footage.
