That's the horrifying part. There's no real modification necessary to fire a bullet and make a gun from these items. Any old 3/4" length of plumbing pipe is an untraceable ghost 12GA shotgun barrel. A 1/4" pipe could fire the ubiquitous 9mm cartridge with only minor drilling required.
