another little fire department fact, the fire chief of your local department has a power even the police do not have, he can demand entry into any inhabitable structure with out warning and does not require a warrant, and if you refuse will come back 10 mins later with armed police to enforce his will, he can do this to inspect for fire safety hazards, questionable wiring, clutter near a furnace ect. most people are not aware they can do this and they dont do it often but fire chiefs and fish and game are among the only people who dont need warrants to enter your house
