Was anybody else a leftist in the 2000s?

The political landscape of 2002 was completely different from that of 2022. Back then it was considered cool and hip to be a Liberal/Leftist. Now the government is almost completely run by Leftist SJWs so it's basically the opposite scenario now. Leftist values in the 2000s were much different than what we have now and nobody wanted all this LGBTQA++ nonsense and a billion illegals flooding the borders like modern leftists do.

I was in my late teens/ early 20s back then and I could recall almost all the young people I know being an "Anti-bush/Anti-war" leftist. Bush was just an easy target since he was such an uptight idiot and since the political landscape was extremely conservative and christian, it just makes sense that the only force pushing against that was leftism. The was media was almost completely christian and conservative and the media that we enjoyed were made by young adults who were leftist and that was what we considered cool back then. You had music that was all "anti-war" and "anti-bush" from bands like System Of a down and NOFX and many people enjoyed them and aligned with their message. Atheism was incredibly popular back then too and a lot of people identified with it because it goes against the grain of what was in the mainstream.

People who were right-wing back then were typically old people who were extremely delusional and arrogant. The Far-right was not taken seriously at all, nobody affiliated with them and the only people who did were skinheads who were in their 40s and 50s. Young people and old people didn't think twice about the far-right.

Fast forward til now and the "Far-Right" is mainstream, they make headlines all the time, they have massive political power in parts of Europe (especially France).

All of us have grown up and moved past this stuff, we have families now, we have a spouses and children we have to take care out. Most of us have shifted towards the right and we don't look back on this phase that we were in.

How do you think I feel? Our nationalists left wing.

What's considered far right today would be centrist to moderate left in the 2000s

the old classic left is the new nowadays "far right"

This is partly true, istis crazy to see how things have changed in only 20 years

Yes, and then I became politically right (libertarian) after I realized liberty is the only moral way

younger people grew up, they became right-wing and Christian. reach your 30s and youll realize the old people were right all a long. the christians were right about everything.

God’s love is liberty

i wasn't really interested in politics

No. Fortunately I wasn't born retarded.

I was centrist or left in 2000s on all topics.
Now I would be considered center-right to far-right despite not having changed my position.

I've never met a christian who wasn't a barely closeted lefty. Your religion's stranglehold on the republican party is why we've had virtually nothing but rinos for the last forty years.

>Canadian flag thread
>Dumbest shit ever posted

I'm positive now these are chink shills hired by xipingpong to shut up the board with dumb shit since china itself is hidden behind it's firewall it would have a shill epicenter in it's north american colony of Canada ie new china

Your experiences, observations, music, etc. programmed you and college deprogrammed you, as intended. Quite the contrary from the fabricated stories of "cultural marxist" colleges. Then getting beaten down at work and saddled with bills finished the job. Nothing to be proud of, just cope. Actually really common and normal, it's literally all designed to do this to you

> I was in my late teens/ early 20s back then and I could recall almost all the young people I know being an "Anti-bush/Anti-war" leftist

Modern Trump Republicans are still anti-Bush (that family is full of faggots) and anti-war (it is the left pushing for war in Russia). Those things were based then and are still based now

I can tell that you are an arrogant halfwit who hasn't even reached 18 years of age based on your inability to say a sentence without vomiting out derivative insults. Come back when you are around my age and then we will have a proper discussion and as for now; you should focus on next week's Spelling quiz.

I wasn't really into politics until I started doing psychedelics and, naturally, I leaned left. Pops was always center right and always had the news on. Flobots was a big political group for me round these parts and their anti-war, anti-fascist sentiments resonated with me. It wasn't that it was cool, per sé, but it made more sense to keep the peace.

You didn't really have "leftists" back then like today.
They were kind of fringe like the so-called far-right.
Even people in favor of legalizing marijuana weren't taken seriously until they started to get state laws passed.

I was until I admitted to myself that blacks are not as smart as whites. That happened in high school (around 2005), when I began to realize more acutely that people are unequally intelligent on a genetic level.

It's impossible to be a modern leftist if you believe that blacks and whites don't have the same IQs. (Jews aren't actually leftists since they don't believe in racial egalitarianism.)

the anti-war sentiment resonated with a lot of young people back then and the sheep who were pretending like Bush didn't do anything wrong were the ones who had a bigger voice in politics back then. Even today, I still think the war was a big mistake.

I wasn't a leftist, i was a liberal....to be honest the left didn't disgust me like they do nowadays. There wasn't any CRT bullshit back then either.

oh that war was 100% a farce and thinking back, it made no sense that they would wage a years-long "war" based off of one attack. They persisted that the caves protected the leaders that they were after, but the tech they used was so revolutionary and it seemed like they had unlimited resources, yet soldiers were still dying.
