so twitter keeps repeating a lie, that it's worth 44 billion dollars, but it keeps telling that lie in legally unconstrained contexts. The buyout shenanigans was a ploy to get twitter to repeat the lie in a time and place they're legally bound to tell the truth.

They will never take him to court because their real bot numbers being exposed under oath would expose them to a shareholder lawsuit for MUCH more than 1 billion, and the FTC could pursue criminal charges for fraud.

Musky wants them to try and force the sale, because he want to burn twitter to the ground. They wont take the bait though, they'll just take the loss and eat the 20% crash on monday.

With inflation and the FED shenanigans that increase the cost of borrowing money, Twitter is already worth way less than what Elon initially offered. Add to that the fact that the site is far more useless for things like data mining that Twitter initially claimed due to them vastly understating their bot issues. Consider also that monetizing Twitter and turning it into a profitable business is now a pipe dream since the Biden price hikes also imply that people won't spend money on the ability to argue with an idiot lib if they can't even afford gas. So, given the economic future of the company, and the fact that billionaires like Musk or Bezos are selling riskier assets right now in the fact of the recession, the deal at that price would've been stupid and since Twitter knows this was their last chance to get that much, they'll try to sue Elon, which most likely won't go anywhere since even the most leftist judge doesn't want him to privately own the influential platform.
