Elon publicly said he wanted to buy twitter purely for free speech reasons and was willing to pay top dollar to do it. A buyer who wants to buy something for emotional reasons is literally the best buyer you can ask for. When he renegged on the deal after weeks of public news about it their stocks tanked.

Twitter will never get a better buyout deal then this. A buyout from an actual company will be lower just because they'll actually negotiate and low-ball in order to get the maximum amount of return on their investment because a company will only want to buy them in order to turn around and make money from it.

Just like Netflix, Twitter is running against the clock on the value of it's stocks to eventually look for someone to buy them out. Twitter doesn't actually make any money and only has an increasing user base to prop up it's value, once it can't say it's getting in new users it's stocks will tank and it'll be worse then Netflix because they actually have no real value.
