You're looking at it as though we were moved into an existing timeline with it's own rigid past that now applies to us, but that's not the case. The current timeline is a fusion of more likely vs less likely pasts. If you come from a less likely past, it's influence on the current timeline is less than a more likely one. And no, his family members wouldn't think he's been reanimated or anything like that, because the timeline in which Bob Barker didn't die 5 years ago is the major influential timeline of this merger, whatever past Bob Barker belongs to is almost guaranteed to be the same one his family belongs to. Worth noting that it's not extremely uncommon for someone to find out they have immediate family members they grew up with that they don't remember. Looking into case studies of "deficient autobiographical memory" there are people with perfectly fine memory who don't remember their brother or their wedding, etc. I was just reading an article that showed people with this "disorder" have to find clues about their own past using diaries, etc.
