OP is correct. Read Who We Are and How We Got Here by David Reich, the Harvard geneticist. It's all about historical human genetics. In one of the chapters he demonstrates that the upper castes in India are more closely related to Europeans than the lower castes, because the invading Indo-Europeans established themselves in the higher castes.
