Satellite dishes for "Satellite TV" don't even point up. They're just long range transmissions and the dish serves as a high gain amplifier due to the signal getting weak over the range.

If the transmissions were coming from satellites obviously the dishes would point straight up as that would be the would be the shortest line to the satellite.
