Why did Russia fail to take Kiev? Was it because of pure incompetence from the Russian "army" or outstanding performance from the Ukrainian forces?
Why did Russia fail to take Kiev...
It didn't happen because it wasn't meant to happen.
Who is benefitting from this being drawn out?
Who is suffering?
Russians are good at defending their territory. They're good at fighting an army that has weakened itself trying to invade them. They're not that great at fighting a fresh army defending their country. They've been living off two failed campaigns to invade by Hitler and Napoleon for too long. I'd trust them to defend themselves if someone tried to invade but I don't trust them to actually take territory anymore.
>invade during mud season
>but I don't trust them to actually take territory anymore.
they're holding 130,000 sq km
it's a pretty big chunk
>Invades 3 week before Ukraine is planning on running an offensive in the Donbass.
are you wanting a serious answer?
Yes
Russians, being a bunch of thieving drunkards that they are, have exchanged most of the army resources for vodka. The story as old as time.
It's a fake operation the russian elites have coordinated with the ukrainians and NATO so they can do whatever they have planned for us. Don't be stupid.
Easy. Picrel has been Russia's strategy for a couple hundred years. An army of mass is not going to be the best style if you are attempting to blitz. Basically due to a lack of proper logistics and effective blitz tactics made the original campaign fail.
Take a look at historical wars in Russia and notice how they have massive casualties. It truly is a mental illness among their generals.
>NOOOOOOOOOO
>HE DIDNT FALL FOR OUR URBAN WARFARE TRAP
the absolute state of insurgent "strategy"
haven't you ever played civ and sent some guys one way towards something you didn't really want and just got tired of savescumming and said fuck it?
russia never attacked kiev. even in the cope battle of kiev wiki article this fact is admitted
The war was really intended to be a feint, a lighting fast grab of territory to terrify Ukrainian government into unconditional surrender. They didn't prepare to actually have to attack because they didn't think they'd need to
retarded FSB didn't anticipate siege scenario. Assured putato army would just roll in and be greeted by the population who would be shitting bricks... Ruskies are victims of their own past propaganda and current corruption.
Because despite what the west keeps spouting, they’re not monsters that’s just going to destroy the city indiscriminately. They’re still trying to avoid property damage if possible, and to wage warfare in a humane way without targeting civilians.
The only person in the whole thread that gets it is a pole. Go Poland!
>nyooooo, they just attacked the burb towns AROUND Kiev, while visibly converging from 4 different vectors onto the city!
you're such a pathetic little cretin lol vatniks got nothing on govnoyeds
Back to your reddit containment general hohol troon
Russian soldeirs kill 35,000 ukrainians per month, they're bleeding soldiers pretty badly. I give Ukrain two more weeks.
Shouldnt you be in the trenches right now you draft dodging faggot? enjoying dying for pride parades while your women take hundreds of dicks
Ukies got saved by the big muddy around the Dnieper River. It’s a different story out east
Why are you in Poland?
Incompetence, Underestimation of their enemy, and Corruption of the Russian Armed Forces.
Urban fighting through the capital would have been too hard. Look at Mariupol and Seversky Donetsk and all those city fights. Getting close could have sparked Zelensky to flee and give them the whole country. He stayed and then Russia had to resort to the slow slogging plan.
>sparked Zelensky to flee
He did. He was green screening from Lviv or Poland for the first few weeks. The US Kiev embassy shut and fled.
Everyone is back, cocky… Not realising this is still Stage 2.
Who knows what is Stage 3?
How many stages are there?
This war will be another 2years in various stages IMO.
Because since day one, Putin stated the goal was to liberate Eastern Ukraine from Globohomo. Maybe he meant what he said.
Russia is weak. Simple as
