So they're buying farmland to create a dependency on their corporate (read; government) manufactured grain. But instead of the Kulaks being forced out with AK's and rationalised genocide they're just making living incapacitating and so they buy the difference of livelihoods lost to debt, greed, desperation or simply because they're such a big offer. Like what China did here buying up massive agricultural land because farmers wanted a way out and to more than break even.
But surely there's a hope to flood the country so the distribution mechanism has to happen, right? Desperation from food has to come from supply shortage first, which is easy to achieve with massive demand spikes. Then we have to consider all the food processing plants being set on fire or going out of commission, all the food trade bans or restrictions globally, but I'm talking specifically from a US reference.
And if you build commie blocks for brownskins you not only bring a massive left government (read; corporate) voter base, but a low income low skill occupation of agricultural zones like the rust belt.
So, in turn, wouldn't it be ideal to start building like those vertical farms and condense the agricultural land placements so it's divided between pods and pod farms?

What do you suggest American farmers (and by extension perhaps the average American gun owner) should have done during the last few years? Lain siege to urban areas hundreds of miles away from them? Protest the government in a form of Jan 6th? Did it no go far enough?

You demanding that I justify why they won't do shit and then saying that you cannot do shit is disingenuous. I'm not saying it's easy or doable either, but maybe the 'n'th time you say "fuck around and find out", it'll finally happen, but it never does, not on small scale or large scale. It happens on minute scale that we don't hear about because it's excusable self defense, and even self defense so excusable became a massive court case in the Rittenhouse event.
Your philosophy is a waste of time anyway. "Fuck around and find out" is entirely impossible with the general population because of the frog boiling phenomenon in a disarmed and demoralised population. It'd have to be REALLY desperate and even then what we're talking about is Dutch protest tier stuff.
The better idea is to start local and just reform society around you. Can't go past your houshold, neighbourhood, whatever? If you own a farm you are required to pay your workers prices similar to what you see here under H2A. In order for a farm to get these workers they must also house the migrants. The only upside is they do not get paid time and a half for overtime, but they are guranteed 30 hours a week and most pay no income taxes.
This is better than most trades. All this money is being purposely bled from the American economy while they meme people to go to college and make less than the prices listed. All these workers make about 30k in 6 months because they work 50-60 hours a week. Rest of the year they just do coke and fuck whores in Mexico.

Most big farmers in America are not getting contracts with large grocery stores renewed.
The large grocery suppliers are instead having the food shipped in from Mexico because it is cheaper than what US farmers can offer to turn a profit. Trump tried to do something about this and essentially failed since the left has memed so long that migrant workers are "abused" by the system.
The red tape is being used to ensure many large family owned farms go under as they cannot compete with the Mexican farms. Once enough of these farms fail Gates is going to start developing the 200k acres of farm land he has bought. Gates can't outright use it all because of laws against corporate farming, but he can lease the land. Gates won't lease the newly acquired land to White American farmers.
Meanwhile, American farmers are having to use H2A to ship Mexican farm workers here, and these same workers are actually getting shit pay the rest of the year in Mexico, which is why Mexican farmers can afford to out price American farmers despite the cost of gas to ship the produce.
The corporate elite have the farming industry by the balls throughout the West, whether the Anglosphere or Europe.
With Europe they are just straight up threatening to take land, such as what's happening in Holland. And they're not being clandestine about this in Europe because Europeans don't have guns like Americans.
