Wrong, it was simply spread from the core of the persian empire to other areas of muslim conquests. The muslim conquests spread it, but the people who were actually responsible were almost 100% persians, not arabs, and were forced to convert to islam by the sword, but islam itself had nothing to do with their knowledge which was built on many centuries of persian science and advancement, shit even long before the muslim conquest persia was one of the most advanced civilizations on earth.
