The local governments have put into effect local state of emergencies around the distribution centers they were blocking. This means that if they continue within this zone they can be put in prison or face hefty fines.

They will continue the protest but how is not currently known. It is around 07:00 in the Netherlands right now.

Police have fired live rounds at unarmed farmers in days prior. Farmers have blocked police stations demanding some of the farmers who were arrested to be released.

They are backing extremely angry farmers into a corner, escalation is to be expected.

The coalition is going with the "Yes you can have pointless protests where you shout out at the clouds with cardboards signs while we cynically snickers and go on with business but you can't engage in any meaningful form of protest, you can be resentful but your resentment can't have teeth.
