Does anyone know what the phenomenon of this is called? Like when I was a kid (late 90s) going on a cruise or a novelty tourist trip like this would be affordable to most families, now they jacked up the prices ~%200-%300 at the base level, making these experiences almost exclusive to families with 7-figure incomes.
The same can be said to phones, you used to be able to get a relatively modern one with one paycheck from a minimum wage job, and now for a current-gen phone they START at 400 bucks.
Are rich people realizing that a million dollars doesn't get them the kind of exclusive access and social bonuses it used to, and artificially inflating prices to keep out the "poors"? Even stuff like Rent, now if you're poor to middle your rent is more than half your income unless you're stacked in rooms great-depression style.
My dad was a card dealer in a casino in a small town in Nevada and could afford it on a single income.

Money is a status symbol and when the poors latch onto the status symbols of the wealthy, the wealthy move onto something else. So either expect to see prices go up or only products & services exclusive to them. One day, they will abandon money entirely because they will have obtained something more valuable (resources & connections) and money will have no value at all.

>basic shit like cruises Fuck off rich faggot I have not ate since the 17th and you are bitching about not being able to go on a cruise
Thomas Murphy
Ostensibly a Disney cruise would be for families with young children. Nowadays it is likely mostly 30 something childless men wearing Marvel and Star Wars shirts buying mountains of radically overpriced junk to drag home.

Im not rich, vacation time, pay, etc need to be enhanced too. It just makes me sad to not see regular families to be able to go to theme parks and stuff.
