They were definitely not struck by lightning it was CLEARLY an extremely powerful round, nothing like a 50cal it was much larger like 50mm round. The car that left the scene 5 seconds after the explosion was likely a targeting spotter probably using laser from across the road, using laser on the guidestone for a long range round to hit the target. That was a 16" thick slab of concrete or solid stone, to explode and push the forces outward in front of the stone to leave the dirt and grass all striped like it is, was a MASSIVE explosion and for the projectile to punch straight thru the stone and send pieces scattering was something moving at a serious pace with an EXTREMELY heavy projectile with a lot of penetrative force. Nothing small would have done this, 50cal would be a joke, this was something serious with some ass behind it.

i was thinking about tungsten 50cal, but they would not penetrate thru 16" of stone/concrete and seeing the projectile field behind the stone i was thinking even a 30mm cannon from a distance wouldnt do it, i was thinking 50mm, that has an almost 2" projectile that is likely 5 pounds traveling at 3000fps would do it. Also be able to shoot from a few miles away unseen.
