Las Vegas considering a curfew for those under 21 after July 4 shooting on Fremont Street

>A July 4 shooting on Fremont Street in Las Vegas has prompted conversations among city officials about whether Sin City should have a curfew for people under 21 years old.
>The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) responded to reports of a shooting near 4th Street and Fremont Street near the Las Vegas Strip around 12:40 a.m.
>Officers determined that a fight had broken out between two male suspects, one of whom fired a gun at the other. Authorities transported the victim to a nearby hospital.
>Apparent footage of the incident posted online shows a group of men fighting in a crowd. They move to the street, at which point shots are fired and the crowd disperses.
>The next day, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman said city officials are considering a curfew.
>Her comments come after a June 19 shooting on Fremont Street left one person dead. The LVMDP arrested a 16-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting, according to FOX 5 Las Vegas.
>Homicide offenses in Las Vegas have increased 57% from seven at this time last year to 11 so far this year, according to LVMPD statistics for the week ending July 1. Other violent crimes, except aggravated assault, are down year-over-year.

Vegas is indescribably ghetto anymore. I know it was stimulus checks and low prices because of all the memeflu vacancies, but for whatever reason it never went back to normal. Vegas was always shitty but it's 1000x worse than it ever was.

>this time last year
>when literally everything was closed and the normies who get killed for butting into people's business were shaking in their boots and didn't come.

You can't even do anything if you aren't 21 in Vegas lol. Regardless this is fucking gay fuck curfews for anyone

They wander around in groups of dozens, and they're EVERYWHERE. Imagine a sideshow in Oakland but down the entire length of the strip.

daily reminder that if vegas had a fuckin subway you could put cops at the stations and catch these people as LA does

it'd also eliminate most of the shootings since drinking would be much easier

How did it stay afloat in the first place? Isn't tourism it's major income stream?

Fucking stupid heads...they (The city council) wanted this Fremont Street Experience. They closed actively used streets to build one giant walking zone for criminals, methheads, grifters, lifters, and the once a month paid homeless to mix with the tourists. Now the chickens have come home to roost. FSE deemed an utter disaster. Bring back the Old Vegas. Mobsters were better mannered.

Nobody else wants Fremont street because it's not a modern resort hotel. It's the same problem San Francisco and Reno have. If LV was smart they'd stop fucking around and attempt to make it into a business district, nobody besides locals uses Fremont St anyway and almost all tourists use the hotels.

The one time I went (2006?) and hung out there I enjoyed it. But that was about the time they’d made a major effort to clean up both Fremont and The Strip.
From what I’ve heard the last couple of years, I doubt I’ll ever be going back to Vegas.

I just drove through Nevada and was pretty surprised to hear you could legally drink at a bar while carrying. It’s a great law, and niggers keep ruining it; as they ruin all things.

so you can't work if you're under 21?

Seems like an easy lawsuit for anyone 18-20. You're a legal adult, but the government is cracking down on your right to assemble and general freedom of movement? Doesn't seem legal.

Vegas was never clean and thanks to all the chinese money it's better to just rebuild Fremont into something not gambling because as a gambling place it's severely dominated by all the bigger hotels that get tourists by the planeload. The old downtown district is better off being something like offices, labs and workshops again instead of a very expensive LED display. At least if the city invested in a nice plaza and a rebuilt train station, normal well-adjusted people would use it and all the wiggers, niggers and other scum would stay on their side of the freeway.

Reno has already advanced this far with their new regional rail plans. We can kinda laugh at that, but at the same time it's hard to fight the basic desire to make Nevada into more than just gambling.

Last time I went to Vegas casinos had smoking sections and they started charging for parking. The hotels also became resorts, you got the Mexican cartoon costume people on the street, you got the blacks with the rap cds, it’s just a shithole and what it used to be. So it is to say who cares at all about Vegas anymore, it’s gay.

Boomers are still too scared about covid to go to vegas, everyone else don’t have the financial means anymore to go wasting money in vegas.

I remember the days you could drive to Vegas from LA for the weekend and it’d be cheaper than a night out if you stayed in LA. Could get a good cheap room at Imperial Palace, cheap pitchers of beer and table buy ins at Buffalo Bills or whatever it was or is still is, etc.

i just want my stardust back, and the airport name returned to mccarran.
