I don’t think the exact exchange rates matter at all. What matters is buying power. If Euro suddenly traded 1:1 to dollar but prices in EU grew accordingly, nothing would change

So many people in the eurozone have always complained about euro being too strong currency. It going down 0-20 cents probably won't change anything.

The issue is this is kind of a death spiral. The EU was lucky that the french elections were this year rather than next otherwise there would have been a much better chance of frexit. With political upheaval happening in western europe, calls for a UK style exit are quite strong among some countries

So the issue as I see it is that the EU will need to import massive amounts of energy this autum/winter. In the NL, I've calculated that the gas subsidies they'll need to pay out are about €30 billion so turks and moroccans can heat their homes to 22 degrees. Most western european countries do this. This money is probably gonna be printed further devaluing the euro

So the euro which is now being printed is being used to import energy, driving down the value of the euro which makes energy more expensive driving down the euro. This makes eu manufactured goods less attractive as an option (not that the eu manufactures much) but it's gonna be a pretty narly trade deficit. The EU is gonna find out the hard way that you can't feed and heat your populace with their retarded communist policies

In the last 2 years, we doubled our money supply without doubling the size of our economy.
In an insulated economy, the price of everything would instantly double, but with our dollar tied to the rest of the world through mandatory use of USD in petroleum purchases, our U.S. debt gets exported and diffused to the world's economies.
With Saudi Arabia accepting Yuan for oil, we are losing our ability to export our debt, and China is insulating their exonomy from our profligate money-printing.
Europe should just buy Russial oil & gas with Rubles and free themselves from our self-destruction.

The greatest measure of a society's wealth is not the value of it's currency but it's productive capacity. Everyone around the world printed for covid so we are in comparatively the same position. The issue now is that Europe's productive capacity is going to be hit and it's going to be using it's store of value (it's currency) as a loan against it's lack of productivity in exchange for things it's citizens "need" (put on a fucking jumper you pussies, your house does not need to be 22 deg in winter. Neither does the gov need to hand you €1500 eur for sitting on it's ass. Fucking useless gov)

Those on the left will call for less of a free market and more distribution. Those on the right will also do so. There are few in Europe who advocate for genuine free market solutions to problems and no, importing millions of darkies and housing them for €1500 eur a month and confiscating people's earnings (the result of their productivity in a consensual free market) is not free market economics. Neither is going after "billionaires" and companies like the right likes to do here
