A mum and her partner are accused of boiling their son alive in a scalding bath and then calling a cab in an effort to dispose of the body. Alicia Lawson and her partner Shatika Lawson are both charged with the manslaughter of four-year-old Malachi Lawson. His severely-burned body was found in a dumpster in Baltimore this weekend. They were both denied bail in a bond hearing on Monday. Police officers in the Maryland city had been searching for missing Malachi since Thursday.
According to a police investigation, the boy suffered severe burns when his mother and her partner gave him a bath."They could see skin from his body floating in the water after they pulled him from the bath tub," investigation documents said. The Lawsons chose not to seek treatment for Malachi's wounds because they feared the boy would be taken away from them by Child Protective Services, according to the police investigation.
