If you pay attention to the history of most nations, you will see that the king struggled endlessly against the nobles, who would exploit the lower classes, with the masses seeing the king as the ultimate defender of their rights. The absolute state of liberals and parliamentarians the Europe over was the butthurt over lack of freedom to oppress the lower classes, and even then they had an absurd amount of power. If you notice something, things like mass conscription, universal income taxes and summary tirals are all features of post-revolution Europe, with monarchies being more respectful of people's traditions than any other system. My only real argument against Monarchism - at least in the absolutist sense - is that you don't know what the Faggot King/Queen is gonna do.
