So it is unfair to both to judge them based on the FED's monetary policy.

What you can do instead is judge them on how the country's fiscal policy was under them, whether or not they called out the federal reserve, and what policies where passed to keep the economy running.

Trump did try to keep the country open, but allowed blue states to lockdown whom where trying to use their own suffering to make him seem unpopular, but Trump also did nothing to do stop that because election year. Also he did call out the federal reserve a few times, but did nothing ultimately beyond reappointing Janet Yellen.
The biggest thing Trump did that would have contributed to inflation was the stimulus checks, and that did directly impact inflation, but could also be argued as necessary for the time.

Biden made no effort to keep the country open. Many places had to close down due to staffing issues from his vaccine mandate. Although the majority of inflation is not directly his fault, it is becoming unmanagable due to his policies directly sabotaging the domestic energy sector and any trade we did with Russia for vital raw materials such as fertilizer and Nobel gases, so now we have massive shortages which exacerbate the impact of inflation. Further more Biden actively sees the high fuel prices as beneficial to fighting Russia (its not) and also motivate Americans to buy electric vehicles to save money at the pump (also not working). Further more Biden could be argued to have unintentionally devaluing the dollar by removing the value it had as the Petro Dollar by the sanctioning of Russia which further accelerated the development of China's Yuan as the new petroleum backed currency.
Also unlike Trump, Biden has not even acknowledged the Federal Reserve impacting the value of the currency, and instead has blamed retailors, effectively making himself look like he has no control over what is going on.
