Are the Russians on a timer in Ukraine? I was reading some pro-Ukrainian articles and some comments pointed out that the Russians needed to make major gains before winter arrived. The offensive would have to slow down in winter conditions and Ukraine will be able to fortify its positions as well as build up its forces with Western arms in the meantime. And when spring comes next year, the fields will all turn to mud and the offensive will grind to a halt while the Ukrainian positions get hardened even more.

Anyone know if swedebro has posted the alpha he commissioned?

Any word on POWs? Last I heard the Russians captured some 800 in Hirske and 200-400 in Zolote but I haven't heard anything about Severodonetsk/Lysyshansk.

>There is a hotel in Kiev where weapons and fuels are stored in such quantities that in the event of an explosion it will smash half of the central Khreshchatyk street.
>This was announced by battalion commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mikhail Maiman.
>He said that a volunteer territorial defense unit guards the Khreshchatyk hotel, where the dangerous cargo is located. He added that the group that settled in the hotel robs and kidnaps local citizens.
>“There are so many weapons and armaments now that if it explodes there, half of Khreshchatyk will explode. Why is it stored in the city center, why are they gathering people there, arming them, they walk around the city of Kyiv in the rear with machine guns, pistols, grenades and grenade launchers? They drive around the city of Kyiv, kidnap people, rob. It's a matter of time when they raise the Russian flag, that's all, "said the Ukrainian.
>He noted that the capital of Ukraine is not safe now, since tons of TNT and weapons are in Khreshchatyk.
>"It's a matter of time when they start using it. The only question is who will they use it against? Definitely not against the Russians," summed up the battalion commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
>Ukrainian platoon commander Mariia talks to soldiers in their position in the Donetsk region, Ukraine, Saturday, July 2, 2022. Ukrainian soldiers returning from the frontlines in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region describe life during what has turned into a grueling war of attrition as apocalyptic. Mariia, 41, said that front-line conditions may vary depending on where a unit is positioned and how well supplied they are.
Lieutenant Mariia arrives at your fighting position and gruffly orders you to counterattack, but suddenly a Russian artillery barrage knocks you both to the ground! Do you:
1. Help her up and charge towards the Russian line 2. Rape her
Sounds like the Ukrainians want their soldiers to embrace WW1 trench conditions while they get pounded by long range artillery and thermobaric weapons

Winter no, Spring might be an issue for the reasons you mentioned but I doubt Russia will have to slow down for winter. Winter is when Russia will have it's tightest control over Europe from gas and will be when Ukraine's supply issues will be at their worst.
