Higher car and fuel prices. Most people live in urban areas so you don't need to commute far.

European countries are the size of small US towns.

Work is 30 miles away for me

Americans will have to pedal more than 4 blocks to get anywhere, which would result in a spike in cardiac arrests

and it still isn't that high in America. Bunch of liars in that survey. Trying to look fit or hip or environmentally responsible.

This.
Riding a bike to the nearest grocery store would take me a minimum of 30min, and I'm in a metropolitan suburb.

>practically unheard of in the US?
Average American women.

Bicycles can't support their weight

America is too horizontally spread out. Ive never lived closer than a 40 minute round trip bike ride from the nearest convenience store, let alone actual grocery store.

Drivers can run you over and get away with it 99% of the time here.

>US
>13%

This is a fucking lie. You seriously believe 13% of Americans ride bikes for transportation? 13 out of every 100 people. Riding a fucking. For any reason other than exercise? I see like 1 or 2 people a week riding their bike to work. Even less to the store. The vast majority are bums who have nowhere to go anyway and people exercising. I don't think its even 3% even if you included kids riding to school.

>tldr fake fucking graph

everything in north america is more spread out and farther apart. the cities are more spread out and there are far more rural areas. that's it that's all. anyone who doesn't realize this is a full blown retard.

Distance.

You see, we figures out its a good practice to not "shit where you eat" and also not to let hobos shit there either. Being farther away from the decadence and decay of urban squalor is valuable for raising a non-poz family. Leave the niggers, faggots, and other general trash in the city... and we'll be humans out in the country. It's about 40+ minutes away.

>It's about 40+ minutes away.
By vehicle, btw. It would take you all day in a bike. Hence the answer: Distance.

>posts a Polish man
What is your point, monkey?

Nearly every neighborhood has a grocery here in Sweden. You don't even need a bike, you could walk.

America got groceries at a strip mall or perhaps highway intersection along with fast food or whatnot. You are expected to leave your neighborhood, head onto a main road or highway and drive there. The positive thing is bigger selection of goods and stores, but you need a car.

In other words, they aren't expected to bike. It will be to long, roads to dangerous or perhaps it's not even possible. You can't change that over night.

I'll like to point and laugh at Americans, but in this chase it like pointing and laughing at someone that isn't playing tennis. Pointless.

We have those too, retard. They're called convenience stores, and they cost an arm and a leg for anything you buy, plus they're usually poorly run. They're frequented by low-income people using EBT to pay for unhealthy, overpriced, packaged food. They're usually a scourge on every neighborhood they inhabit.

Yep, there's the problem with American zoning laws. Otherwise everything would be fine.

European countries are better laid out for biking than the US.

Thats probably just the US highschooler percentage.

While it is partly true, the main reason is that the generation that came back from fighting World War 2 bulldozed American cities for highways and sprawling suburbia made up of rambler style homes. They instituted zoning laws that would prevent the building of anything else. It wasn't until Boomers got older that they realized that something was wrong and the cities they were managing were going broke. (see Charles Marohn, Jeff Speck and Andres Duany). But most Boomers doubled down on what their parents set forth and just made it bigger. McMansions and massive interchanges and diamond interchanges and ezpass toll roads.

Every argument I've heard from Americans basically amounts to "niggers said that I'm not allowed :("

God Americans are pathetic.

>You seriously believe 13%
Would this woman lie to you?

Niggers

I grew up out in the country is Missouri. Riding a bike to the nearest grocery store would take a few hours on pretty dangerous roads.

I live in the downtown core of a major Canadian city and I simply don’t believe that there are more cyclists here than in the UK. We’ve got even worse urban sprawl than the US
